Strategic
Leadership

Standards & Technology
Standards are established by the collective and collaborative efforts of the Council to inform the design, set the rules and accelerate technology adoption. The Standards Council of Canada accredited the CIO Strategy Council to develop National Standards of Canada.

Our Standards
Through our nationally-accredited, agile, open-by-default and consensus-based approach, the CIO Strategy Council has accelerated the standards-setting process in Canada to match the speed of innovation and advancement in ICT. Comprised of hundreds of thought leaders and experts cutting across various economic sectors from coast-to-coast-to-coast, the hard work of our technical committees lead to the publication of National Standards of Canada.
Making Digital Technology Sustainable
A connected world shouldn’t cost the Earth. That’s why the CIO Strategy Council’s members have created the Sustainable IT Pledge. The first pledge of its kind in North America, it aims to reduce the rapidly growing emissions from digital technologies and has been signed by some of the biggest companies in Canada.
Our Partnerships
We know how much more we can do to address the extraordinary challenges facing Canada’s information and technology sector when we join forces with other experts across the country. At the Council, we believe that partnerships are a key to helping us drive collective action across all sectors of the Canadian digital ecosystem.
