TORONTO, July 8, 2020 – Following the recent approval by the CIO Strategy Council’s Standards Policy Committee, this notice of intent is to inform stakeholders of the development of a Publicly Available Specification (PAS) for scalable remote access infrastructure.
A Publicly Available Specification (PAS) is developed to respond to an urgent market need, representing the consensus of subject matter experts. The PAS will be published for immediate use and serve to obtain feedback on its transition to a National Standard of Canada.
As organizations continue to react to unprecedented and unplanned shifts in their workforce to support work-from-home mandates, this specification aims to help organizations mitigate security risks and scalability demands associated with enterprise technologies used for remote access.
The PAS will provide a framework and set of characteristics which, when adopted, enable the secure and rapid scale-up of the infrastructure needed to support remote work requirements.
