TORONTO – The CIO Strategy Council is pleased to announce a new partnership with Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada), to explore the business opportunities and challenges presented by the proliferation of data in organizational decision making.
This partnership combines CPA Canada’s comprehensive expertise in accounting, audit, standard-setting and the use of data as a key driver of decision making with the Council’s wealth of knowledge in information and communication technology (ICT) and standards development. Together we will explore opportunities to reorient practices to a real-time and forward-looking approach, in line with the new and emerging technologies that are augmenting the business ecosystem.
“The exponential shifts in technology, globalization and business practices, and the pivot to real-time decision-making systems are impacting all sectors of the economy, creating the need for standards and leadership around data governance and integrity,” said Keith Jansa, Executive Director, CIO Strategy Council.
“Developing new ways to capitalize on the wealth of available data is a pressing business issue in Canada and around the world, and CPAs have value to offer,” said Gordon Beal, Vice President, Research, Guidance and Support, CPA Canada. “This partnership with the CIO Strategy Council adds an important component to the work we are doing in this space.”
